Embarking on a thrilling adventure last weekend, we found ourselves immersed in the exhilarating world of simulated coursing! Our destination? The heart-pounding Sporting Whippet Club event, nestled in the vibrant city of Coventry.

Picture this: a field alive with energy, where sleek whippets take centre stage, their graceful forms ready to embrace the challenge. But this wasn’t your ordinary race. Oh no, it was a mesmerising display of speed, agility, and strategy, as these four-legged wonders embarked on a chase like no other.

Gone were the predictable straight lines and gentle curves. Instead, the arena came alive with anticipation as the whippets burst forth from their traditional leather slips, released by the Slipper. And what were they chasing, you might ask? A cunning drag lure that wove and twisted through the course, emulating the electrifying twists and turns of a genuine chase.

Now, let me introduce you to the star of the show: Flux, our feisty and fearless whippet. From the very first moment, it was as if she had found her true calling. The excitement radiated from her as she dashed alongside another enthusiastic dog, the wind in her fur and determination in her eyes. And guess what? Flux not only held her own but left an indelible mark on the course, earning her the coveted clearance to compete in future competitions! 😁
